Poem: To A Friend
And all the tears,
They taste of pain
Yet here I stand.
How sweet the rain.
And see the river winding,
Bending through the years
Swirling in the land of love
With agony and tears
For without one, the other
is naught
And fear shall win the day
Yet now I cry and still I
see
That joy is on its way.
How bittersweet the wine of
life
How pungent is the berry
What glow I see within the
eyes
Of the one I seek to carry?
For times are rough, yet I
am strong
For I have been there too.
And when I look, how odd to
see:
There I am in you.
Soft to my heart
Come closer to me
Close your sweet eyes
My love not to see
Take a deep breath
Then take my hand
I will be right here
'Til you're ready to stand
And fly away from me
Fly off on your own wings
Fly higher than you dreamed
you could
See all there is to see...
And if you get lost, there
will I be.
